250 years of independence, Paris celebrates the USA

July 4th, the Independence Day of the USA. On 2026, the country celebrates its 250th anniversary, in the USA and in many countries such as France. The two national histories are strongly linked together, and France celebrates the anniversary with various and numerous events.

Paris’ main areas turn to American colors and today, we invite you to discover the new capital. The Eiffel Tower is dressed in the American flag colors. The Grand trianon immerses you in 1776 for a vivid and colorful parade. Georges Washington, the Comte de Rochambeau and the Marquis de La Fayette supervise the operations for the crucial battle of Yorktown in 1781, corner stone of the revolution.

Throughout the afternoon, dynamic battle reenactments performed in authentic uniforms recreate the strategies and intensity of the era. Soldiers come with musicians, in historic uniforms, that perform some original revolution melodies.

But the place to be on 2026, July 4th is in Château de Versailles. A grand aerial show combining hundreds of drones and pyrotechnics lights up the night, painting the sky in the red, white, and blue of the American flag. Book your Premium ticket and enjoy a reserved seat for one of the showtimes of “The Battle”, an immersive production combining choreography, sound effects, and narration.

With the American spirit in Paris, enter to Paris-Plage, a unique summer and sport area along the Seine. This year, the area will adorn itself with celebration and colors. Silk craft in Lyon, the unique immersive experience

Silk printing is a rare and refined craft preserved in Lyon over centuries. Today, step into this captivating world for an immersive visit in traditional technics and block printing, that gave birth to “à la lyonnaise” frames and an ancestral corporation.

Silk is closely linked to the history of Lyon since the 16th century, at the behest of King François Ier. Unique center of importation and manufacture, the Great Factory (name of the corporation) grows quickly from the right shore of the Saône until the hills of the district of La Croix Rousse. The “canuts” (silk workers) produce silk for the French monarchy and various European dominion.

During the 19th century, hundreds of thousands of canuts work in manufactures, making Lyon the capital of silk through a tumultuous history. The city smells and lives for silk, creating new mechanical tools, news designs, new textures, destined for furniture as well as for garments and accessories.

Today, some famous manufacturers perpetuate this traditional activity, while developing new tools and collaborations. The greatest contemporary artists create new collections, associating their illustrious names with marvelous masterpieces. In-house designers participate in this profusion of craft novelties with original creations or inspired by ancient world-renowned artists.

Vibrant Harvest Season in Champagne, Burgundy, and Alsace

Champagne
