On June 6th, 2025, the Grand Palais of Paris has its grand reopening, after four years of complete renovation. The date also marks the launch of a major collaboration with Pompidou Centre that will close for a five-year renovation. Enjoy this historical and fabulous moment!
The Grand Palais is built at the end of the 19th century by a collective of architects, and opens to the public in 1900, for the Universal Exhibition. The building is typical of the Belle Époque period, the pinnacle of Beaux-Arts style, with a dazzling glass roof and a fabulous light metallic structure.
In 2021, the Grand Palais started a four year’s renovation. During the Paris Olympique Games, in 2024, the Grand Palais welcomed several great contests and was one of the stars of the competitions. In 2025, the gorgeous monument prepares its reopening to the public, with new secret areas to visit and exhibitions from the Pompidou Centre’s collections, starting with Niki de Saint-Phalle (1930-2002) and Jean Tinguely (1925-1991), with a focus on Pontus Hultén (1924-2006).
Their masterpieces launch the events, exhibiting Machines, Tirs and the colourful Nanas. Some rare documents and archive films will complement the showcase. Discover the animated and playful machines created by Jean Tinguely, the giant and curvaceous sculptures designed by Niki de Saint-Phalle.
Their artistical journey wouldn’t be the same without the visionary first director of the Pompidou Centre, Pontus Hultén. The man created the first cultural centre associating arts, literary, science and life, accessible to a large public in an incredible open space. He is, among other things, the first to support Niki de Saint-Phalle and Jean Tinguely, acquiring and exhibiting their artworks in and out of the Pompidou Centre.
Be the first few to enjoy the double event, just a step from Champs-Élysées Avenue. We will organize the perfect amazing day in Grand Palais. Just for you.
