From May 29th to September 27th, the Impressionist Festival creates the perfect event in Normandy for sensitive lovers around the theme “The likely garden” through eternal questions. The 2026 edition honors Claude Monet, who died in Giverny just a hundred years ago, and his visions of the garden, this living and changing space where nothing is definitive and where each season is a new artist’s palette opened to every possibility.
The summer offers an exceptional cultural adventure designed for travelers who appreciate refinement and exclusivity. All over Normand territory, more than 70 projects will animate cities and villages: exhibitions, live performances, scenery in public areas, touristic itinerary. You will experience the impressionist universe of Claude Monet, a centurial heritage living in a contemporary artistic cocoon.
International and French artists exhibit together with the most creative new generation, from Ai Weiwei, Céleste Boursier-Mougenot, Fujiko Nakaya to Sarah Moon, Studio Drift et Tanja Smeets, as few examples. Through generations, impressionism lives and inspires artists from all over the world, as an intemporal perfection search for light, colors, water mirror. Always with questions: Which colors will merge tomorrow? How will the light be tomorrow?
Honfleur, Rouen, Vernon, Giverny, along the Seine, create your impressionist journey and discover spectacular artistic proposals. Explore the fabulous garden under movement, an area of experiences, gatherings, new perspectives on countryside, gardens and art.
From private moments in Giverny’s legendary gardens to curated encounters with leading contemporary artists, the festival blends Monet’s heritage and innovation with unmistakable French elegance.
