An exclusive food tour in Bordeaux, french capital of gastronomy

Peplum invites you today to dive into French traditional cuisine by enjoying a food tour in Bordeaux, located in south-western France.

Our experience will take place at marché des Capucins, the largest food market in the city, also called “Bordeaux’s belly” and founded in 1525. It is open every dayexcept onMondays, and offers the best vegetables, fishes and meat of the region!

Bordeaux is lucky enough to mix various cultures in order to create a unique gastronomy, thanks to years of being an important trading place through its port. During your visit with a private guide, you will be able to taste local wines, such as ones from Saint-Emilion, Pessac and many more. These will perfectly fit the delicious local deli, that you can find at the market and every restaurant. From the aperitif, let’s move on to the main course: won’t you like to try Bordeaux style lamprey? It is a rare and seasonal dish you can enjoy with a strong red wine with wood flavours, such as Château Monier La Fraisse.

All year long, you will also be delighted by the typical foie gras, or the excellent caviar. To end with a sweet touch, you’ll absolutely need to try canelé, also a speciality from Bordeaux!
